Being fully aware of the
responsibility and great importance of the students community of
south-eastern Europe for solving the most important problems related to life
and environment quality in the countries of the region and the region as a
whole, the participants of the First Congress of Students of Environmental
Protection of South-eastern Europe have unanimously adopted the
DECLARATION
OF ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION IN SOUTH-EASTERN EUROPE
In nearly sixty papers,
students of graduate, master and PhD studies, the participants of the First
Congress of Students of South-eastern Europe, have demonstrated and analised
their knowledge, skills and experience of:

The participants of the
First Congress of Students of Environmental Protection of South-eastern
Europe share the attitude that life and environment quality problems are
very similar in the countries of the region, and they express readiness to
actively participate, using their knowledge and skills, in finding the best
solutions and applying the best methods available in order to improve the
quality of life and the environment.
Those who are especially
interested in the development of education and science for the purpose of
environmental protection within the same, European educational framework are
starting the initiative for establishing and developing a network of
organistions and institutions aimed at training and educating people for
environmental protection in south-eastern Europe.
Considering positive
experiences and important results of the First Congress of Students of
Environmental Protection of South-eastern Europe, the Congress participants
express deep interest and readiness to establish, through the Congress
actions and activities between the two encounters, cooperation on projects
and programmes which will contribute to finding the best solutions for
continuous improvement of life and environment quality in the countries of
the region.
The Congress participants
require from the governments in the region the establishment of necessary
conditions for more active involvement of young professionals who will, by
applying their knowledge and skills, contribute to sustainable development
of the region and its promotion to a region of peace and friendly
relationships among the neighbouring countries.
The Congress participants
are ready to apply their knowledge, skills and capacities for the purpose of
development and welfare of the regional local communities. Therefore, they
are going to pay special attention to local initiatives and local
sustainable development in the future. They demand from the local
governments more scope for creativity and employing the capacities of young
professionals and researchers.
The participants of the
First Congress of Students of Environmental Protection of South-eastern
Europe would like to thank the sponsors of the Congress (Coca Cola Hellenic,
PUC Medijana, Medijana municipality, Palilula municipality) for their
support in the Congress organisation and their understanding for involvement
of young professionals in life and environment quality improvement in the
